Rowan Trollope is Group President, SMB & .Cloud Business Unit. Trollope leads Symantec’s sales, marketing and product development teams in the small and midsized business (SMB) segment as well as Symantec.cloud, the company’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) business. Most recently, Trollope was senior vice president of Symantec.cloud, where he focused on driving Symantec’s SaaS strategy and expanding cloud-based delivery and customer support models across the Symantec technology portfolio. In May 2011, Trollope also assumed responsibility for Symantec’s newly formed SMB organization to enable the company to better serve this important customer segment. Trollope joined Symantec in 1991 and was previously responsible for product development, engineering, business strategy, and industry relations for Symantec’s worldwide consumer products. In this role, Trollope managed a team of engineers, product managers, and research and development staff that developed the Norton line of consumer products, including Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus and Norton 360. Prior to this, Trollope served as vice president of Security Management Products at Symantec where he was responsible for key enterprise security solutions, including Symantec Security Information Manager and Symantec Enterprise Security Manager. Trollope has also served Symantec as vice president of Consumer Product Research and Development, leading the Norton brand to market leadership in Internet security, and in various engineering, quality assurance, support, and general management positions. Trollope holds a variety of patents in computer security and operating systems maintenance. In addition to his work with Symantec, he is a co-founder and board member of Software Shelf, Inc. He also serves on the advisory board of Mitsui Venture Partners, and is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Rowan has completed the Executive Institute at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University, and the Stanford Directors College at Stanford Law School.
